Angelita Salado

Angelita SaladoAngelita Salado, M.Ed., is a prominent Latin professional woman with over twenty-five years of combined experience as a Counselor and Public Relations Spokeswoman. She received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the World Dominican University and another in Art in Communication from the prestigious School of Communication at the University of the Sacred Heart, Puerto Rico. Mrs. Salado also received a Masters Degree in Counseling in Education from Turabo University, South Florida Campus. She has worked as a case manager for both the Mental Health Target Case Management and Community Outreach programs, the top-rated community based care agencies in Miami-Dade County. She was with the agency when privatization of the foster care system broke ground in June 2005. During the era of system changes, which saw a large increase in the number of clientele, all employees were challenged to increase their workloads and to exhibit documented excellence in all areas of service. Ms. Salgado is considered to be a major contributor to the success of the agency.

Angelita Salado has a proven track record of community involvement. With her considerable compassion, integrity, respect and commitment, Mrs. Salado cares deeply about children and families. She is a strong advocate for people with disabilities, which leads her to be a De
legate for “The Family Cafe.” Through the Family Café she serves as a mechanism for communication exchange, providing a means for information distribution and advocacy mentoring throughout the state of Florida. She assists The Family Café with organizing, conducting, and hosting town hall meetings, community forums, and other venues for information exchange.

Angelita is a member of the American Counseling Association, Florida Counseling Association, Dade Counseling Association, the Association for Death Education and Counseling, Florida School Counselors Association and the Association for Specialist in Group Work Mrs. Salado will be a workshop presenter at Flori
da Counseling Association Statewide Conference to be held in Daytona Beach in November 13-15, 2008. Angelita presently is a Public Affairs Officer with The American Red Cross of Greater Miami & the Florida Keys. Angelita Salado, M.Ed is a candidate recommended by The Board of County Commissioners of Miami-Dade County for consideration of an appointment by the Governor to the Children's Trust Governing Board of Miami-Dade County.

Edward V. Cornejo

Edward Cornejo Edward V. Cornejo, M.A, M.Phil, is a New York City native born of Ecuadorian immigrants; he lived and worked in Manhattan and the Bronx where he served as a counselor and teacher for over 20 years. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Philosophy, from Cathedral College; a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology (with special training in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy) from Manhattan College; and a Master of Philosophy Degree in History from the City University of New York.

Edward has conducted a variety of seminars and trainings that have focused on stress reduction, coping skills, self-improvement, and classroom management. He has been honored by schools and colleges alike and has received special honors from the Borough President of Queens, New York for initiating a pro bono E.S.L class for Latin American immigrants in the Jackson Heights area of Queens, New York. He was also recently recognized as Facilitator of the Year (2008) by an institution of higher education in South Florida. He currently teaches college and graduate students in the fields of education and counseling. Edward Cornejo is a member or has been inducted into; Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society for Education, Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society for Counseling and American Counseling Association.
